"Truth” has perennial importance in religion and philosophy. In the last couple of years, it has also often been in the news, and under attack, with the emergence of concepts such as “alternative facts.” Other traditional values (such as tact and civility) are also in decline. Are we now living in a “post-truth” era? We will consider both the theoretical and the practical sides of these topics.
