Susan Rubin
This Sunday's service introduces us to Secular Humanist Judaism with guest speaker, Susan Rubin, a founding member of the Tucson Secular Humanist Jewish Circle. Humanistic Judaism is a movement that emphasizes Jewish culture and Jewish history as the source of Jewish identity. Its rituals and ceremonies do not include prayer or invocation of a deity. A humanistic Jewish community was organized in Tucson in 2009 with the goal of planning and sponsoring Jewish holiday, educational and social events.
