14-08-31: The Importance of the Unitarian Universalist Faith

August 30, 2014

Rev. Mark Kiyimba with Rev. Diane Dowgiert and Randall Springer

This Sunday is one of those once in a lifetime events you won't want to miss. We are honored to host the Rev. Mark Kiyimba, who is minister of the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Kampala, Uganda. His personal story of finding Unitarian Universalism is inspiring. The work of his congregation is inspirational, too. They provide an orphanage home to children who've lost parents to HIV/AIDS. Many of the children are HIV+.  The congregation s Standing On the Side of Love program reaches out to LGBT youth and young adults, providing emergency shelter.
During the service, our children and youth will have the opportunity to ask Rev. Mark about what it s like to be a kid in Uganda today. His sermon, The Importance of Our Unitarian Universalist Faith is sure to remind us all that our presence in the world matters.
