When read in the context of the time in which it was written, the traditional Lord's Prayer can be understood not as a prayer of devotion, but as a prayer for economic justice. When read in the context of our own time, it may have some very contemporary sounding wisdom to impart. How do we transcend a seemingly entrenched system of class inequality?
