In honor of Rash Hashanah, which begins at sunset, we'll consider the Hebrew word teshuva. Often translated as "repent," the true meaning of teshuva is simply, "to turn." Whether turning over a new leaf or turning to a new chapter, every act of turning in- volves both a moving away and a moving toward. What must we turn away from in order to turn toward freedom?
