Rev. Diane Dowgiert and Lisa McDaniel-Hutchings

Marking the passages of life within community makes them more meaningful. Our graduating youth will take part in a bridging ceremony and our newest members will be recognized, all wrapped in the beauty of a traditional Unitarian Universalist Flower Communion.

Many Hands Make Light Work

May 10, 2009

Rev. Diane Dowgiert and UUCT Staff

A church community is a special kind of home, a place that shelters and nourishes the mind, body, and spirit.  It is so because of the many who call this place home and the gifts of time and treasure each brings.  Mother's wisdom says, Many hands make light work.  On this Mother's Day we'll recognize volunteers who have gone above and beyond to make our church home for all.

Rabbi Helen Cohn with introduction by Margot Garcia

Rabbi Helen Cohn of Congregation M'kor Hayim and former interim office manager will speak on how ritual gives significance to the passage of time in our lives.  She gives examples from the Jewish and Unitarian Universalist traditions.

We praise you Adonai, our God, ruller of the universe,
who has given us life, sustained us,
and brought us to this moment in time.
