The Social Justice Council will host our first of four Sunday morning holiday card parties at 8:30 am, Sunday, Nov. 10 in Goddard Hall. No experience necessary. Please invite any friends who might be interested. Children are especially invited, too. If anybody would like to sing or play an instrument while we make our cards, that would be very cool.
We will have lots of examples of Spanish words and phrases for you to chose from. But the idea is for you to fill out each card in your own unique voice. We don't want to offer false hope, but we can let the recipients know that they are not forgotten - no matter how isolated and forgotten they may feel.
We will have 120 UNICEF cards with "Peace" written in 6 languages. However, you can bring your own cards or bring/make DIY cards (each card requires an envelope). We have funds in the SJC budget so please bring receipts if you would like to be reimbursed.
PLEASE NOTE: ICE does not allow any stickers, glitter, bows, sequins can be on the cards or envelopes. However, color is OK. If you have colorful markers, please share them on Sunday.
We won't seal the envelopes. The Florence Project staff will address these cards at their holiday party on December 13.
