Gratitude Tree

This activity is a great way to remind ourselves all month long what we're grateful for. You'll only need:

  • Thankful Tree Printable Template
  • colored copy paper, colored cardstock, or construction paper for the leaves
  • scissors
  • glue sticks
  • markers for writing on the leaves

Simply cut out the tree and leaves. When you think of a new thing to be thankful for, add it to the tree! How many leaves can you add over the month?

Gratitude Cactus

Feeling a little more prickly this time of year? Create a Gratitude Cactus! Color in the cactus with your favorite art supplies and then add hearts, flowers, or more spikes depending on how you're feeling that day. Use it all month to record your gratitudes and prickly thoughts!

  • Gratitude Cactus Printable
  • colored copy paper, colored cardstock, or construction paper for the flowers
  • scissors
  • glue sticks
  • markers for writing on the flowers

How many flowers and spikes can you add over the month?

HSSAZ also has more traditional pets available for adoption! If you're looking for a forever family member, you'll find just the right one there! Thank you HSSAZ for a great morning!

Thank you to everyone who donated to our Humane Society Collection

The Baja 4 collected a full table of supplies that HSSAZ needed and $100.25 in cash and coins! Thank you all for your generosity and support of our kids.

14 children and adult met at HSSAZ for our fabulous tour. We saw behind -the -scenes at all the work it takes to keep homeless animals safe, fed, and healthy.

Taking It Home

A Flame to Light Our Path

By Debra Burrell

Fire consumes, and casts a bright light.

May our chalice flame consume our regrets for the past,

our fears about the future, and our worries about today.

May it light for us a path of joy and peace.

FOUNDATIONS: Skill Building Series for Congregational Leaders

This series of Pacific Western Region hosted webinars in October to December will equip leaders and potential leaders in congregations with skills to lead their congregations effectively, relationally, and focused toward transformation and liberation. These leaders and potential leaders will connect with one another and foster a sense of connectedness with the region and larger UUA. Some sessions will be role specific; many will support every type of leader in our churches.

1st and 3rd Tuesdays (2:00 PT) and Thursdays (6:30pm PT) - each topic offered twice

  • Nov. 15 & 17 Elements of a congregation: Understanding the parts and roles that make up your community (good for sabbatical planning, lay-led, and sustainable ministry). Who does what in this congregation? What do we need? What can we live without? If you are interested in how you will cover every aspect of ministry now that you are facing sabbatical/departure of a minister or being unintentionally lay-led, then this is the workshop for you.
  • Dec. 6th & 8th Governance: Beyond Robert’s Rules. Is there life beyond Robert’s Rules? For some of our congregations, life is thriving without Robert’s Rules. If you want to know more, and bring more possibilities to be more inclusive within your congregational governance system, then join us for this wonderful workshop where we will explore life beyond the norm.

Register via Wufooonce for the entire series, and join when you can for what serves you.

We are stronger together
