Annual Quilters Show

The UU Quilters are having a show in Holland Sanctuary for your enjoyment during the coming holidays. It is planned to be on display until sometime in January, or perhaps until construction begins on the remodeling. Some of the works will be for sale and some of the pieces are personal property, marked NFS (not for sale!).

The last quilt we completed before the pandemic shutdown began about two years ago is displayed and will be available to be won in a raffle. This is a scrappy quilt which was tied, so maybe technically it is not a "quilt", but it is colorful and decorative. The raffle will take place in January, with tickets being sold for $2 each or 3 tickets for $5, and purchases of tickets will take place after the service each Sunday or during the coffee hour. See a Quilter to buy your tickets!

Lets get together and talk about it!

Learn about the Seven Principles with us.

Learn about the Seven Principles starting here: https://theprinciples.today/

"My takeaway from yesterday's group was that we were left with more questions than answers. We talked about compassion and gave examples of individual acts of compassion. But we also talked about the fact that systems, such as the prison system, are largely devoid of compassion and justice. We pondered on the disconnect between individuals and groups or systems." Kate

The third principle of Unitarian Universalism is acceptance of one another, and encouragement

to spiritual growth in our congregations.

What does this principle mean to you? How do we encourage spiritual growth? Come join us on

the patio on November 20th at 9:00 for some thoughtful conversation…and a donut!

Book Club, December 13, 2022:

December 13, 2022 -  2nd Thursday UUCT Book Club

The Little Paris Bookshop-by Nina George

Monsieur Perdu calls himself a literary apothecary. From his floating bookstore in a barge on the Seine, he prescribes novels for the hardships of life. Using his intuitive feel for the exact book a reader needs, Perdu mends broken hearts and souls. The only person he can't seem to heal through literature is himself; he's still haunted by heartbreak after his great love disappeared. She left him with only a letter, which he has never opened.

Internationally bestselling and filled with warmth and adventure, The Little Paris Bookshop is a love letter to books, meant for anyone who believes in the power of stories to shape people's lives.

Social Justice

Share the Plate

The Share the Plate for October is TIHAN

Mission: TIHAN provides community resources and caring support so that people with HIV can live well. Through education, we work to encourage everyone to get tested, get involved, and reduce the stigma of HIV.

Vision: Creating a community where everyone knows their HIV status, and where every person – regardless of status – is supported and affirmed to live as well as possible and stay healthy and engaged in the community.

Who We Serve

TIHAN serves a diverse population of people living with HIV — women, people of color, members of the LGBT community, those from all walks of life and backgrounds. Although medications are helping to keep people with HIV alive longer than ever, there are still thousands of people in Pima County with HIV, and TIHAN serves to help them live well.

You may donate to Share the Plate, on our website: STP

The last Tuesday of every month, we collect hard boiled eggs, other food items, good used clothing, towels, toiletries, pet food and other suitable items for one of our favorite non profits, the Casa Maria Soup Kitchen. Every day, Casa Maria feed up to 500 hungry homeless and low income Tucsonans. Many members of our congregation make hard boiled eggs, and meet a UUCT volunteer at our church, on the last Tuesday of each month, between 8 and 9 am.
Each month, a UUCT member can sign up to drive along with donations for an unforgettable tour of Casa Maria.
If you would like more information about our UUCT commitment with Casa Maria, please email Sue Watts: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..

IT’S ANGEL HEART PAJAMA TIME! We will again be supporting this heartfelt organization that collects new pajamas and new books for the needy children of Tucson who are housing deficient, in foster homes or being removed from their home setting. Last year this organization delivered almost 6,000 pairs of pajamas to local children in need. Needed this year are sizes toddler to children’s XL and for teens adult M/L. New books for any age are appreciated. Last year UUCT donated 90 pairs of PJs to Angel Heart so please put them on your Christmas list again this year. Boxes for PJ and book donations can be found in Goddard.
