Meet Me in Goddard
As we all know, there will come a time when it is once again safe for us to gather to worship in person. Once our Board determines that it is safe to do so, the next step is for the Board to invite up to 60 people to gather in Goddard on one of the Sundays when we have our live-streamed service and to watch it together on the large screen TV. Your Worship Associates Committee wants to find out what level of interest there is for this type of gathering and to ask how many of you who hope to attend in Goddard are vaccinated against Covid. We are very much interested in your thoughts and questions.
Please take a few minutes to complete this Google Survey by November 24. After we have studied the results, I will pass them onto the Board and the rest of our congregation.

How to Give to the Church
You are asked to use our credit card service (which can be reached by the link or the On-line Giving button on our website), the very easy to use Text-to-Give (1-833-361-5796), or checks may be sent to the office. The on-line giving gives you the option to identify the contribution and use the memo line for checks. A tutorial video on Text-to-Give is here. After setting up an initial “profile” these options are easy to use for subsequent donations.
COVID Guidelines
"Indoor gatherings are not currently allowed at UUCT. COVIDActNow has assigned Pima County a "Very High" Risk Level as of today, November 10. Once Pima County has been at "High" for 7 consecutive days, indoor gatherings will be permitted."

This Coming Sunday! Congregational Meeting!
Be There!
A virtual Congregational Meeting is set for November 14 at noon to learn more about the HVAC replacement, bathroom remodel, and ramp to lower stage project. We need you to make a quorum so we can vote to authorize a fund drive to pay for these needed improvements. The details are on the website at:https://uuctucson.org/
(That is the mechanical room to the right. The pipes are wrapped in asbestos insulation, which needs to be professionally removed.)

Rummage Sale, Friday, Dec. 3rd, 7 a.m. -1 p.m. & Saturday, Dec. 4th, 7 a.m. - noon.
It’s time to start planning for our big UUCT Rummage Sale. Start gathering your gently used and saleable items to donate for the sale. Bring books, tools, household items and clothing that you think will sell. Drop items off from 9:00 to 11:00 Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays starting on November 9th. Knock on the office door if Goddard isn’t open. Call the office (748-1551) to arrange drop-off at other times. Pajamas for the Angel Heart Pajama Project can be dropped off at these times also.
We will need many volunteers to help set up the sale and price items as well as people to work the days of the sale and afterward to clear out the unsold items (hopefully not so many this time). If you can help in any way, require pickup of items for donation or have questions email: This email address is being protected from spambots. 3. NO BATHROOMS (plan accordingly!).
  4. BRING YOUR OWN CHAIR No church chairs or other furniture will be available.

Nov 11, 2021: Book of Longings by Sue Monk Kidd, 2020
Discussion leader: Sally R
Did Jesus Ever Tie the Knot? A New Novel Considers the Question.
“Kidd’s bold narrative revisionism allows her protagonist to be in every respect the equal of her husband while posing this question: How would Western culture be different if men and women had grown in appreciation of each other’s spirit? It’s not such a leap—the gospels portray Jesus gently championing women.” —O, The Oprah Magazine
Dec 9, 2021: Henry Ossian Flipper: West Point's First Black Graduate by Jane Eppinga, 1996
Discussion leader: Diana B
This book was recommended to Diana by the late Winn Bundy, owner of the Singing Winds bookstore in Benson AZ. “The literary center of the universe is supposed to be in New York, but here was this shining light of the literary world living and working on a ranch outside Benson, Arizona,” said J.A. Jance. Bundy earned a bachelor’s degree in history from the UA in 1956 and later master’s degrees in history and library science.
We meet the second Thursday of each month via Zoom Meeting opens by 9:20am, book discussion starts at 9:30am.
