Traditionally, on Christmas Eve, we do a collection for the Ministers Discretionary Fund. This is special account that the minister may use at her discretion to help those who are in need. You may write a check and mail it, made out to UUCT, with minister in the memo line, or you may donate through the church website:Ministers Fund
How to Give to the Church
You are asked to use our credit card service (which can be reached by the link or the On-line Giving button on our website), the very easy to use Text-to-Give (1-833-361-5796),or checkssent to the office. The on-line giving gives you the option to identify the contribution and use the memo line for checks. A tutorial video on Text-to-Give is here. After setting up an initial “profile” these options are easy to use for subsequent donations.

The UUCT Book Club has chosen books for the next three monthly meetings. Hopefully this provides enough time to purchase/borrow and read the books.
January 14, 2021: “Spying on the South” by Tony Horwitz, copyright 2019.
“In Spying on the South, Horwitz may have found his true historical
alter-ego in Frederick Law Olmsted, the elite Northeastern adventurer
and prolific writer about the American South in the 1850s who later
became America’s great landscape artist and designer of parks all over
the United States.”
We meet online the 2nd Thursday of the month at 9:30am.

Listening Class
Does it ever feel like everyone is shouting to be heard and no one really feels understood?
Listening is an important part of personal health, relationships, and community - but it’s a skill many people never study or develop! Hearing each other can be even harder in this political climate and during the holiday season.
Beyond the current challenges, listening is a particularly important skill for UUs because when we covenant together we aspire to come from a place of respect and understanding. Do you think practicing the skill of listening could help you? Join Rev Samantha and Ministerial Intern Rylee for a deep dive introduction to listening skills.
This class is open to all Baja 4 congregations.

Cafe Justo Coffee
What a great Holiday Gift Café Justo coffee would make!
Sales - and delivery - of Café Justo coffee are continuing. This Social Justice Council (SJC) project benefits small-scale, shade-grown organic coffee growers in Chiapas, Mexico.

Please join us for the next HARD BOILED EGG run for Casa Maria soup kitchen! Times are hard for the hungry right now, and we can help! A volunteer will be at church next Tuesday, 12/29, from 8 until 9amat our weekly sign vigil, to collect your eggs. Please boil your eggs a day or two before, chill in iced water to cool, place back in the cartons and write HB on each egg. Write "HARD BOILED" on a piece of tape and put that on the carton. DO NOT PEEL THE EGGS!
We are also collecting warm clothing, including shoes, jackets, socks, hats and gloves. In addition, clean towels, toiletries, pet food and plastic bags.
THANK YOU SO MUCH! The little bit that UUCT can do, helps SO MUCH!!

RE at Home Resources
Are you interested in "doing church" at home? I am collecting resources for at home religious education both on the Parenting Club facebook page and in a google drive. The folder is available to everyone! You'll find activities that take 5 minutes and one that take 5 days, so you're in control of how much time you spend on RE.
