Poinsettia Fundraiser!

 

We are offering 3 colors this year: Jubilee Red for $10, Golden Glow or Ice Punch for $15 each. We have ordered a limited amount, so you will need to order promptly below no later than November 30. You will receive an email verification with a total amount due, to be paid at uuctucson.org/donate or by sending a check to the church office by December 1 for this order to be completed. 

 

Poinsettias can be picked up in the church parking lot on December 4 and 5 from 10:00-11:00. Delivery can be arranged by calling Carolyn Saunders at 520-906-9058.

Participate in the Virtual Christmas Pageant

 

This year we can't hold our regular Christmas Pageant chaos night, but we don't want to miss all the fun! The pageant will be prerecorded, we'll all be able to live stream it on Christmas Eve and watch together.

 

BUT! You can still participate! There are three ways:

How to Give to the Church

 

You are asked to use our credit card service (which can be reached by the link or the On-line Giving button on our website), the very easy to use Text-to-Give (1-833-361-5796),or checkssent to the office. The on-line giving gives you the option to identify the contribution and use the memo line for checks. A tutorial video on Text-to-Give is here. After setting up an initial “profile” these options are easy to use for subsequent donations.

 

Giving Tuesday, often stylized as #GivingTuesday for the purposes of hashtag, refers to the Tuesday after Thanksgiving in the United States. It is a global movement that unleashes the power of people and organizations to transform their communities and the world. Please consider the church if you plan to donate to any organization this year.

It is easy to do, just select the church as your charity of choice. We received $61.80 from Amazon Smile for purchases made July 1-Sept 30 of this year!

 

Year End Pledge Request:

Out of sight out of mind. Well, my pledge to UUCT fell off of my radar because being out of work, I discontinued a lot of automatic payments. Pledges are down by $7,000 in the last 2 months and are $85,983 compared to last years $89,438. We had planned to be at $91,808 by now so there's a little difference. The church is still in a good financial state thanks to generous member donations and the PPP loan that is expected to be forgiven. UUCT has had some repairs and has continuing expenses. Being part of this great church includes giving monetarily as we can. A convenience for me is to set up automatic payments and I'll get that going again just as soon as I get a job. Just now I logged in to my credit union and arranged for a check to be sent. Will you do so too please?

UUCT Office Visits Must Be Scheduled and Confirmed in Advance

 

In the wake of continuing community spread of COVID-19 illnesses, the Board of Trustees is requiring that all in-person visits to the office be scheduled in advance with our Congregational Administrator, Mary Wiese, until further notice. She can be reached Sunday - Thursday. Also, the board’s approved COVID-19 policy requires all members visiting the campus to adhere to social distancing of at least 6 feet, and wear facemasks that meetCDC guidelines:

Other Office Updates:

Rev. Bethany will be on vacation from Friday, November 27th through Friday, December 4th. Please contact her by phone or text if there is an emergency while she is away.

 

Mary Wiese, our Congregational Administrator, will be on vacation from Wednesday November 25-Monday November 30.

 

Jesus, our Church Custodian, has fully recovered from Covid. He will be back to work on a limited basis after he receives a release from his doctor. Again, he wishes to thank everyone for the care and generosity while he has been away.

ANGEL HEART PAJAMA PROJECT

 

Angel Heart Pajama Project distributes new pajamas and books to share love and caring to children in foster care, shelters or who are homeless. Often children are removed from the home and have no possessions so receiving a pair of new pajamas and a new book is like a warm hug. Social Justice is supporting this organization with a one-time new pajama drive as the number of needy children has increased greatly. Drop off new pajamas for children ages 2-12 at UUCT on Tuesdays 8-8:45AM, when picking up your Thanksgiving dinner, or during Poinsettia pickup on Dec 4 & 5th 10-11:00AM Thank you for supporting our Tucson children in their time of need. The folder is available to everyone! You'll find activities that take 5 minutes and one that take 5 days, so you're in control of how much time you spend on RE.
