Participate in the Virtual Christmas Pageant

This year we can't hold our regular Christmas Pageant chaos night, but we don't want to miss all the fun! The pageant will be prerecorded, we'll all be able to live stream it on Christmas Eve and watch together.

BUT! You can still participate! There are two ways:

1. Record a line to be included in the Multitude of Angels. In real life, we have a beautiful gaggle of sparkly folks as our angels. This year, you ALL get to be angels. Simply record the line below using a voice app or video app.

Peace on earth and goodwill to all!

Then, submit it to me by email (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) or on this google drive:https://tinyurl.com/y3qkt75u**We will NOT see any faces for this video, and it will be posted to YouTube on the UUCT public channel. We are only playing their voices because our actors are...
2. Bring your stuffies to be our actors!Yes, you read that right. Our stuffie friends are going to be our actors. We are using a kind of storytelling that we have done before in Baja 4 worship. The basic concept is that we record our voices and then put images “over” them so we hear our voices and see the photos. An example is Warrior Goddess:https://youtu.be/V2_nsvrRXFY

If you want your stuffie friend to star in the show, drop them off at UUCT onSaturday, Dec. 5 between 9am and 3pm. We want to be sure we "check in" your stuffie so we're sure the right stuffie goes home with the right family! We will need your actor for a week to take their photo (a lot) so be sure not to bring us a stuffie you can't sleep without. Then, you can pick them up on Saturday, Dec. 12 from 9am to 3pm or by appointment.
How to Give to the Church

You are asked to use our credit card service (which can be reached by the link or the On-line Giving button on our website), the very easy to use Text-to-Give (1-833-361-5796),or checkssent to the office. The on-line giving gives you the option to identify the contribution and use the memo line for checks. A tutorial video on Text-to-Give is here. After setting up an initial “profile” these options are easy to use for subsequent donations.
News From the Church Office

Update on Jesus:Jesus, our wonderful custodian for the last 20 years, tested positive for COVID 19, on October 7. He was hospitalized the next week and spent 5 days in the hospital. He has been recovering at home since then, and is feeling much better. However, he is still testing positive and until he tests negative, he cannot return to work. He is very grateful for all of the food, cards, and well wishes he has received from our members and friends.

Publication Guidelines:After this month, we will no longer be publishing a monthly newsletter for various reasons. However, we will do our best to include events and news in our weekly email blasts. In order to be inclusive of everyone's contributions, we are asking folks to adhere to the publishing guidelines. If you have an article or an announcement that is longer than the guidelines, it may be published on the church website and a link will be provided.

Email Guidelines:The all-church email is sent every week. The primary purpose of the email is for church staff to remind the congregation of upcoming services and church-related events.
Email announcements are:
  • Brief (no more than 50 words. Longer announcements may be posted on the church website and a link will be provided.)
  • Time sensitive (event occurring within one month)
  • Reminders (not the first time info has been shared about upcoming events)
  • Send to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
The publishers reserves the right to establish priorities during a busy news week.

Mary's Hours:Mary, our Congregational Administrator, is available by email Sunday-Thursday from 9-2. The days that she is in the church office are Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursday's by appointment.

Join the Baja 4 families in POPs, a video-based, at-home curriculum grounded in Unitarian Universalism and designed for parents and caregivers of children ages 2-5. Each month,
  • On your own, watch three short videos on the theme of the month.
  • With our POPS adults, meet once a month to check in and share.
  • With our children, join other kids for story and crafts time!

RE at Home Resources
Are you interested in "doing church" at home? I am collecting resources for at home religious education both on the Parenting Club facebook page and in a google drive. The folder is available to everyone! You'll find activities that take 5 minutes and one that take 5 days, so you're in control of how much time you spend on RE.
