A Dynamic Welcome
Sunday, August 11, 2019, 10:30
Universalist minister Rev. Lewis Beals Fisher once wrote: "Universalists are often asked to tell where they stand. The only true answer to give to this question is that we do not stand at all; we move.” The First Principle of Unitarian Universalism calls us to welcome all. Where must our welcome move in order for us to continue growing in our faith?

Question: “Why?”; Answer: (a) “Because” or (b) “Why Not?”
Sunday, August 11, 2019, 10:30
Does the scientific method give us all the knowledge that we can
possess? Or is there “something else”?  In this service we will
examine an unfamiliar take on this question, which greatly affects how
we formulate our religious and philosophical views.

How To Sunday Morning
Not sure how to get involved? Here's the scoop:
  1. When you arrive at UUCT, sign up for your preferred class at the table outside Holland Hall.
  2. Enjoy Worship Service in Holland Hall (yes, even the youth)! We will dismiss everyone to class at about 10:45am, after the Message for All Ages.
  3. Leave for your class in the Education Wing during the Children’s Benediction. Not sure which direction to head? Just follow the crowd! We’ll all go out together and there will be an officious person with a clipboard to show you which room to go to.
  4. Learn, enjoy, share, participate!
  5. Repeat again next week.
**As always, children, youth (and adults) are welcome to stay in the Sanctuary for Worship any Sunday.
Fall Activity Leader
The best part of the Choose Your Own Adventure format is that ANYONE (yes, you!) can step into the classroom for a short time commitment (or a longer one if you're so moved).

Jamili will be preparing all the curriculum and supplies, and inexperienced teachers will be paired with experienced folks! You'll have the day's activities in advance so you can be prepared, but there won't be any search for materials or books! Woohoo!

This program is designed to prepare youth to be safe when they're home alone, watching younger siblings, or babysitting. The Instructor-led class is filled with fun games and role-playing exercises. Students learn:
  • Safety Skills: Students learn how to prevent unsafe situations and what to do when faced with dangers such as power failures or weather emergencies.
