Ongoing Groups:
Raising Adolescents
1st and 3rd Saturdays | 10-11am | Meetings held on Zoom
This group is designed for those adults raising children who are ages 10-ish to 18-ish, but everyone is welcome. We will meet regularly on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays.
We realize that raising older children –whether you call them tweens, teens, adolescents, or just youth –brings particular joys and frustrations. Come share your experiences with us! We will begin our group around one of the most sensitive topics for us and our youth: Gender Identity, Relationships, Social Media, Safety and Consent, and more. We will dig into the topics and curriculum called “Grown Ups [Parents and Caregivers] As Sexuality Educators” which will guide our discussions. Click for more information about this curriculum. check out https://www.uua.org/families/sexuality-educators.
As we explore how we support our children in building healthy, safe relationships, who knows what else will emerge! Topics to be determined by the group. Bring your wisdom and questions to share.
Who can Join?
The group is open to everyone. Parents, grandparents, guardians, aunts, uncles, babysitters, childcare providers, and anyone else helping to create a family culture around UU values will find ideas, inspiration, and support.
Activities and discussions will be most relevant for folks helping raise children ages 10-18, but families with younger children will find encouragement and provocative questions here too.
POPS: Parenting of Preschoolers
4th Saturdays | 1-2pm | Meetings held on Zoom
Join the Baja 4 families in creating a parenting community grounded in Unitarian Universalism and designed for parents and caregivers of children ages 2-5.
Each month, grown ups meet to check in and share. You’ll also get invitations and reminders about preschool age specific events and programs so that our young people can meet each other!
All activities are optional and free for Baja 4 families! Please RSVP here — to get the zoom link and password.
