14-05-11: Mothers, Mothers' Day, and Peace

May 11, 2014

Rev. Diane Dowgiert

Mothers' Day as it's celebrated today, is a far-sight from Julia Ward Howe's Mothers' Day Proclamation, which called mothers the world over to "solemnly take counsel with each other as the means whereby the great human family can live in peace." Is there a role today for mothers to usher in an era of peace?
